“Who goes where?” The door or gate user has to prove they have valid permission to obtain access through a particular opening. This can be by means of an RFID card or keyfob, either long range or short range, at particular times of day, and also by biometric means such as a fingerprint stored on the system.
Another important benefit is that each door pass through event (or attempt) is logged by individuals’ credentials, so you have a complete picture of personnel traffic around your site. Access permissions can be cancelled at the touch of a button if a card is lost / stolen, or a member of staff leaves the company.
Our friendly and experienced consultants can assist you in choosing the best access control software for your needs, whether it be a system to manage multiple sites or one which records staff attendance and integrates to their payroll report, Logisticomms have the answer.
Logisticomms work with you to develop the right access control strategy for your building. The access control reader design, the locking device suitable for each door, the likely eventualities to watch out for – these are all taken into account. Logisticomms install a wide range of systems such as Paxton, PAC, ievo, 2N, Urmet, Brivo, and TDSi.
Can I use my phone for access control at my warehouse?
Access control readers that accept a smartphone app are a good way to get around the need to carry cards or fobs. Each user needs to download the systems app to their phone. If this isn’t easy for visitors or short term agency staff, a hybrid approach can be used where a multi format reader accepts either a valid proximity token or a smartphone.
Are biometric access controls worth the extra investment?
Use of biometric readers is a failsafe way of identifying persons and are excellent in high security environments. Unlike a card that can be borrowed or stolen, a persons own biometric credentials such as a fingerprint, facial features or iris cannot be shared. There is extra administration involved in enrolling fingerprints, but the security benefits and user convenience can outweigh this in most high security applications. We will help you choose a system with the best read accuracy, as a reader that only works half the time leads to staff taking risky short-cuts such as propping doors open. To cover for all eventualities, a reader that reads both fingerprints and proximity cards like the ievo Ultimate reader is often the best option.
